Colonel Steven D. Carey

Colonel Steven D. Carey recently retired as the Commandant of the College of Aerospace Doctrine, Research and Education (CADRE), and the Vice Commander, Air Force Doctrine Center, Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.  He controlled the development, analysis and wargaming of air and space power doctrine, strategy and concepts as well as education of Air Force, joint and combined leaders on war fighting at the operational and strategic level.  He led a ground breaking merger of CADRE and the AF Doctrine Center  creating the Air Force’s hallmark institution to shape and educate today's leaders using a spectrum of resident and distance learning courses, wargames and research on air, space and cyber space power. A combat-seasoned fighter pilot, Colonel Carey is a multi-dimensional senior officer with a wide array of management and operations experience. Prior to commanding CADRE, Colonel Carey was overseas where he was the 16 AF Chief, Operations and Intelligence, Aviano AB, Italy and the Headquarters United States Air Forces Europe Chief of COMUSAFE's Commander's Action Group.  Prior to this, Colonel Carey was the Chief of Air Warfare Concepts at the Air Force Doctrine Center and was also a National Defense Fellow with RAND Corporation.  Colonel Carey's operational experience includes commanding the 58th Fighter Squadron, a 24 aircraft F-l5C air superiority squadron consisting of nearly 400 personnel.  At the 58th, he led the air superiority element of the Air Force' first no-notice real-world Air Expeditionary Force deployment to Southwest Asia.  Coupled with this air-to-air expertise as an F-15C Instructor, Col Carey also gained 1,400+ hours in the multirole F-16C flying with the Pacific Air Forces and Tactical Air Command.  As an F-16C Instructor Pilot and Mission Commander, Col Carey was the 9th Air Force F-16 Aerial Demonstration Pilot flying 100+ North American air shows and earned Tactical Air Command's Flight Commander of the Year award.  His broad operational experience also includes speechwriting and lead presenter for the Commander, Air Combat Commander. Although the majority of his operational experience is with fighters, Col Carey also flew combat missions as a Weapons Allocation Officer on JSTARS during DESERT STORM and most recently, served as the Director of Operations for the Combined Air Forces North in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.  Colonel Carey earned his commission and history degree from the United States Air Force Academy and also holds a masters in business. He is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff and Air War College. Zack Carpenter

Production Supervisor

Zack is a CertaPro Production Supervisor with nearly 10 years of painting experience. He grew up in Mobile County and began working in the construction trade at an early age. As a young man, he worked the summers cleaning up job sites, straightening bent nails, and learning the multiple skills in the home building.  Zack discovered early in his life that it is better to put forth a little more effort and get the job done right the first time. He has a varied background in the construction industry and his experience includes framing homes, iron work, maintenance supervisor and residential painting.  He is a dedicated family man with a wonderful wife and 4 beautiful daughters.  Zack is a professional who takes great pride in his work and is committed to making CertaPro the #1 painting business in all of Alabama.
